Would you join a race without the finish line in view?
Would you take part in a marathon without knowing where it ends?
That’s the feeling you get when you are running on a hamster wheel—you don’t know where you’re headed to. You are running for something you can’t even see or accomplish.
A hamster wheel is a dangerous thing. It leads us to burnout, exhaustion and frustration.
A hamster wheel is one of the most effective tools that the devil uses against us.
He deceives us into thinking that the more we work, the more we will accomplish.
However, busy doesn’t always mean effective. Yes, we may achieve financial success, but our marriages, health and relationships may suffer. Is this success, really?
How do you know if you’re on a hamster wheel?
• You exhaust yourself by running in circles;
• There is no visible end in view;
• There is no finish line;
• There is no peace.
Hamster wheels block us from trusting God. When we are on a hamster wheel, we believe that we can accomplish success “our way” instead of God’s way.
Matthew 6:24 clearly says, “No one can serve two masters—two lords; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
How do we get off the hamster wheel?
Get off the hamster wheel by believing in God’s goodness and generosity. When we serve God, all His Wealth Codes work for us. That’s how we get blessed in our results, relationships and live with love & laughter.
God’s generosity is the basis for His authority in our lives. Knowing that God wants the
best for you is the first step to freedom.
Now I want you to picture a new life without hamster wheels…
