There is a wonderful land that God has prepared for you. However, you may not get into it because you sabotage yourself.
Many people fall prey to self-sabotage and negative mindset without even knowing it. Are you one of them?
Numbers 13:27-28 tells a fascinating story that describes what self-sabotage can do to you. Twelve spies were sent into Promised Land. After they came back, 10 of them dispatched: “Yes, it is a wonderful land. Indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey. NEVERTHELESS, the people who live in the land are strong; and their cities are fortified…”
God responded to their unbelief, saying: “Not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated Me with contempt will ever see it” (Numbers 14:23).
Remember: what you dwell upon, think and imagine can actually happen. That’s why it’s vital to pay careful attention to your thoughts, imaginations and concepts. You become what you think about.
Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”
This is exactly what happened to the 10 doubtful, self-sabotaging spies – they got what they “believed” in! On the other hand, Joshua and Caleb were the two spies who brought back a good report and trusted that God would help them succeed. They were the only men from their generation who went into the Promised Land after the time of wandering.
Consider this: wilderness, “the land of just enough,” was only intended to be a transition point, not a long-term destination. Because of doubt, negativity and self-sabotage, the people of Israel “got stuck” in the wilderness for 40 years instead of 40 days. They left Egypt rich, but they became poor.
HOW’S YOUR SELF-TALK?
The first sign of self-sabotage is negative self-talk. All negative self-talk in rooted in shame. As a general rule, 70-80% of our thoughts are negative. That means more than half of the thoughts in your mind work against you!
By continuing with negative self-talk not only do you sabotage your self-image, but you also sabotage your health. It is proven that 80% of all diseases come from our negative mindsets, fatigue, stress, anxiety, all of which lower our immune response.
In order to fulfill your God-given destiny and possess your Promised Land, you need to break the bondage of negative self-talk.
1 Peter 5:7-8 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Satan is the one who wants you to think negatively about yourself; he often tells you that you’re a loser. But the truth is: God did not create you to fail.
CHOOSE HAPPY
You can choose to live in the state of disharmony or harmony.
Disharmony says: life happens TO you or AGAINST you.
Harmony says: life happens FOR you.
I strongly encourage you to separate yourself from negative thoughts.
REMEMBER:
You are not those thoughts.
You are good enough.
You were created to win.
It is possible. Escaping the swampland of negative thinking and self-sabotage gets you out of disharmony – “the wilderness” – into the land that God has prepared for you.
