Great leaders always define the expectations. Unfulfilled expectations still bring life’s greatest disappointments. Your ability to attract and retain valuable people increases in direct proportion with your ability to clearly define expectations from the beginning. People who will not or cannot find fulfillment and value associating with you and the team should not stay around too long, no matter how talented. If they do, they will damage the team and diminish your leadership influence. Refresh them, retrain them, or remove them, sooner rather than later.
