We often look back on situations we regret—wondering, “What was I thinking? How did that happen?”
We all make mistakes, lose money and face tragedies. The good news is, God is able to redeem and restore the years we’ve wasted and even make our past failures work for our good.
I am so encouraged that Father God promises to “restore the years the locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25).
When I was younger, I often yielded to “the world’s” commercial advantages if I knew I could gain wealth—regardless of the consequences. Unfortunately, I have had “unjust gains” in my business life. At the time, I wasn’t following God’s leading, guidance and will. I did it “My Way!” What a disaster it was!
In my actual experience, even when I was contending against God, He, through Divine mercy, instead of crushing me (which my ways deserved), led me back into His restoration, comfort and good standing.
He spoke to me from Isaiah 57:17-19: “I will not contend with you forever, nor will I always be angry . . . I saw the iniquity of your unjust gain . . . I have seen your ways, but . . . I will lead, restore, complete and comfort you.”
What a good God He is!
Today I encourage you to receive God’s forgiveness and leave your regrets behind. Your bad past must become a foreign land to you—resolve to never return to it!
In order to live without regrets, you need to:
FORGIVE—yourself first, then others. Forgive 1—set 2 free
FORGET—leave the bad past behind
LOVE—yourself first, and then your neighbor
LAUGH—out loud; it heals the pain
IDENTIFY—your future with the King
REMEMBER—He paid for your freedom
EXPECT—no limits to His answers and generosity
GIVE—be a blessing
Come back! Walk again with Him!
